Agricultural Economics & Extension Education
Dr. James Kofi Blay is an agricultural economist and an interdisciplinary academician with solid foundation and specialization in research, sustainable ecosystem, agricultural food marketing and price policy analysis, climate and environmental economics studies, project appraisal and management, and econometric modelling and applications. Dr Blay is a reviewer at the Asian Journal of Agricultural Extension, Economics and Sociology, and Journal of Cleaner Production and, ensures that research methods and processes are ethical in high-quality journals. Additionally, he’s a lecturer at AAMUSTED, Department of Agricultural Economics and builds the capacity of students (postgraduates and undergraduates) in research methodologies, research ethics, data analysis, presentation insights and publication. He is also a member of the International Society for Development and Sustainability and published journal articles focused on sustainable agricultural production systems, environmental and climate studies, livelihood of farmers and agricultural market dynamics. He has a comprehensive research experience and understanding on the interplay and nexus between agroecological systems and greenhouse gas emission based on policies that address the complex challenges facing the agriculture sector through quantitative and econometric modelling approach (structural equations, instrumental variables estimation approach, multivariate analytical techniques) and other advanced analytical techniques (quantile and threshold regressions). Dr Blay is excellent at preparing research study schedules and surveys, and conducting statistical data analysis using software packages like Python, R, SPSS, EViews, Stata and QGIS. These abilities enable him to operate effectively and efficiently within an international research organization. Dr Blay is an enthusiastic and result driven professional seeking a challenging role in policy analysis, climate and environmental economics studies, livelihood, food security and sustainable agriculture production with focused on gender inclusiveness studies in any organization by contributing to the achievement of organizational long-term goals and objectives.
