Faculty of Environment and Health Education holds Seminar on International Postgraduate Studies

The Faculty of Environment and Health Education at AAMUSTED, Mampong Campus, organised a highly anticipated seminar on postgraduate opportunities abroad for final-year students. Held on Friday, 2nd August 2024, the seminar aimed to provide valuable information and guidance to students considering pursuing postgraduate studies in the USA and Germany. The event was facilitated by Prof. Bismark Dwumfour-Asare, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Health Education; Prof. Isaac Monney, Head of the Department of Environmental Health and Sanitation Education; Mr. Collins Kuffour, a lecturer in the Department of Environmental Health and Sanitation Education; and Dr. Dennis Yar, Head of the Department of Public Health Education.


During the seminar, students were eager to learn about the application process, scholarship opportunities, and the overall academic environment in the USA and Germany. The event, which was well-attended by both students and faculty members, provided an excellent platform for attendees to learn about the exciting prospects available for postgraduate education abroad.
The seminar was organised in collaboration with Mr. Otuo-Achampong Boakye and a team from EducationUSA. Mr. Otuo-Achampong, an environmental enthusiast and climate activist, spoke at the event, highlighting the importance of mentoring for academic and professional development. He shared his personal experiences of winning fellowships to study abroad and attend conferences, inspiring students with his journey. Additionally, he discussed available postgraduate opportunities in Germany.


Ms. Marilyn Owusu, the Executive Director of EducationUSA, meticulously guided students through the application process, available scholarships, and the requisite documents for applying for postgraduate studies in the USA. EducationUSA, a U.S. Department of State network, promotes U.S. higher education to students worldwide by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States. After her presentation, Ms. Marilyn Owusu took the time to address all the students’ questions comprehensively. She motivated them to pursue postgraduate studies in the USA, emphasising its status as a preferred destination for international students and its numerous scholarship opportunities. The students were highly enthusiastic and expressed their excitement about attending the seminar.
