Professor Dr. Isaac Abunyuwah is a disciplined and interdisciplinary academic with a balanced mix of multi-socio-cultural exposure, emotional intelligence and analytical rigour. He has over 20 years of research, teaching, management, governance and consultancy experiences in the academia.
Professor Abunyuwah boasts of eighteen (18) years of post-qualification lectureship engagement; and holds two terminal degrees, PhD in Applied Statistics & Empirical Methods, and Dr.sc. agrar. (Agricultural Economics) from the Institute of Mathematics Stochastics (2004-2008) and Institute of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development (2005-2008) respectively, from University of Goettingen, Germany. Isaac also obtained his MSc. degree in International Agriculture with specialization in Agric. Economics & Socio-Economics of Rural Development, in
2004; from same University of Goettingen, Germany. Professor Abunyuwah has in addition acquired specialized training and expertise in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, Development and Project management in International Context, International Development Financing & Politics, Church and Missionary Values, Conflicts Management, and Competency-Based Training, from National and International institutions.
Prior to his full appointment as lecturer in Ghana, Isaac worked as Scientific and Research Assistant at the Agricultural Policy Chair and as Student Assistant at the Zentrum fur Statistics of University of Gottingen between 2005-2008. He was seconded to International Centre for Enterprise and Sustainable Development (ICED) as Evangelischer Entwicklungsdienst (EED) Expert Volunteer where he headed the Research and Training directorate for three years. He has also worked with GIMPA, UEW-Kumasi Campus and Presbyterian University College- Ghana Business schools as Visiting lecturer in Financial Econometrics, Quantitative Methods and Business Economics at the graduate levels.
Professor Abunyuwah’s research interests and expertise cut across applied time series econometric modelling, multiple market equilibria dynamics, technical and economic efficiency analysis, financial econometrics and investment appraisal, food safety, price transmission and market integration analysis; and applied statistics in management and environmental sciences. He is a distinguished scholar who in addition to empirical studies, has published theoretical and methodological papers in market integration, price transmission modelling and market equilibrium analysis in international journals, academic terrains that require strong analytical competency to delve.
He has participated in several local and international conferences and seminars. Notable among them are Renewable Energy Seminar, Glücksburg, Germany; Seminar on Stochastic Processes (SSP), Princeton University, USA; Bayesian Econometrics in UCL, London, UK; Object Data Bases Conference, Berlin, Germany; and Applied Statistics Tour Conference, Quadriburg, Germany.
Isaac has very rich experience in teaching and supervision of students’ theses at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Having found himself in Teaching Universities, he has taught over eighteen thousand (18,000) students over the past eighteen years at both graduate and undergraduate levels; and has over the years served as external assessor and examiner for over Fifty (50) postgraduate students for local and international universities.
Professor Abunyuwah is well vested in university governance and administration, and has contributed immensely in developing university policies, regulations and academic programmes. He has been a member or lead officer of many grantsmanship teams where he served as project coordinator, director or member of the implementation team.
Prof. Abunyuwah has served on over 50 university panels, committees, boards and councils for which he has chaired about thirty 30 of them, for the past eighteen years. As Principal of the Asante Mampong Campus, he is a member of all Governing Council and Academic Board sub-committees of the University; and represents the Vice-Chancellor at all major programmes and activities in and
around the Asante Mampong Campus as Chair or Special Guest.
Prof. Abunyuwah, has since 2011 served in management and leadership capacities of the University, including University Governing councils. Prior to his appointment as the Principal of the Asante Mampong Campus of AAMUSTED, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Education. Isaac had previously served as the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Head of Department, Coordinator for Externally Funded Projects, Departmental Exams Officer, Academic Counsellor; Patron of Students’ Associations,
and Welfare Chair of UTAG – UEW/AAMUSTED, Asante Mampong Campus. He currently represents the
Vice-Chancellor as the Academic and Administrative head of the campus; and provides leadershipfor, manages and monitors the overall development of the campus.
