The Environmental Health and Sanitation Students’ Association of Ghana (EHSSAG) has launched a scholarship scheme to provide financial support to students in the Department of Environmental Health and Sanitation Education at the Mampong Campus. Dubbed the EHSSAG scholarship, this financial support is reserved for outstanding students in the Department from Level 200 to Level 400.
The scholarship scheme is funded by the annual dues paid by association members, and therefore, all association members qualify for it. Currently, three students from Level 200 (Second Year) and Level 300 (Third Year) have been supported, but this will be expanded in due course. A student must also attain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and must demonstrate financial need to be eligible for this financial support.
For the maiden edition, each of the following students received a cash prize of Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHS500):
Level 200
Josephine Adufu
Level 300
Shamsudeen Inusah Ahmed
Konlan Kojo Yoobe
The cash prizes were presented by the Patron, Ing. Prof. Isaac Monney. Speaking at the brief ceremony, he stated that this had taken three years to materialise, and he is pleased that the current leadership of EHSSAG has finally implemented it. He expressed optimism that the funds for the awards will be increased subsequently to ease the financial challenges faced by some brilliant students. This will enable them to focus more on their studies.
Congratulations to all EHSSAG scholars!
