INTENSIVE PRE-ACADEMIC ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR FRESHMEN FOR THE 2022/2023 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Asante Mampong Campus of AAMUSTED recently held an Intensive Pre-Academic Orientation Programme (IPOP) for the incoming freshmen and freshwomen of the 2022/2023 academic year. The IPOP, which was held at the New Lecture Theatre, was designed to provide the freshers with an introduction to the rules and regulations of the university and student life.

The Vice Dean of Students, Mr. Fritz Bonsu in his opening remarks, welcomed the students and introduced the senior members, faculty, and administrative staff. The Ag. Principal, Prof. Emmanuel Dartey, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Frederick K. Sarfo, then officially welcomed the students to the university campus and encouraged them to focus on their studies.

The Campus Registrar, Mr. Richard K. Mprah, discussed the channels of communication used on campus and how to effectively communicate academic and non-academic related concerns with authorities through the appropriate channels.

Prof. Dr. Dr. Isaac Abunyuwaah, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Education, spoke on the academic programmes offered by AAMUSTED Mampong Campus and their importance. He urged the students to take pride in their chosen programmes, as they are designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge to become successful entrepreneurs in society.

Mr. Kofi Nyarko Dennis from the students’ records office, highlighted the importance of registering online each semester. He provided a detailed explanation of how students can register online and access the student portal.

Other notable speakers present at the IPOP included: Ag. Dean, Faculty of Education and General Studies, Rev. Dr. George Oduro-Okyireh; Head of Finance, Gregory Kojo Asankomah, Esq.; the Amaniampong Hall Manager, Mr. Stephen K. Armah; Head of Academic Affairs, Mr Osei-Bediako Appau; Head of I.T, Mr. John Bosco Fiave; the Faculty of Agriculture Education’s Examinations Officer Mr. Samuel Ebo Owusu; and the Ag. Head of library Mr. Kwaben Amoako.
